Membership on the Honor Committee is limited to 100 members who apply for membership. Undergraduate students who apply must have and maintain a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.66, be in good academic and conduct standing, and successfully complete the training and orientation program. Graduate student members must have and maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.00 and must be in good academic and conduct standing as well as successfully complete the training and orientation program.
Faculty members, administrative faculty, and classified staff members who join the committee must have a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited program. Faculty members cannot participate in committees that are hearing cases they have referred. Additionally, faculty members are not assigned to cases from their own department.
All committee members are required to complete an online training module upon acceptance to the committee. Additional expectations include:
- Available at least 4 hours a month (approx. 1-2 hearings) to serve on a hearing board. Hearings occur in 2-3 hour time blocks, from 9:00-5:00pm Monday-Friday
- All members are expected to volunteer for at least one event/presentation/exam proctoring per semester.
- One training meeting a semester (approx.. 1 hour each)
