Roles and Responsibilities
The role of the Honor Committee is to provide education around issues of academic integrity, provide support for students and faculty, and hear cases of academic dishonesty as they arise.
As such, Honor Committees are expected to participate in educational outreach activities, including but not limited to class presentations, proctoring services, and recruitment drives. Additionally, Honor Committee members typically devote 2 hours a month for hearings in cases of academic dishonesty. This vital role requires our Honor Committee members to be fair and impartial, exhibit strong critical thinking skills, uphold standards of confidentiality around student records, and represent the very best of our Mason academic community.
